First raku firing for a while, really great to be back in the heat the flames and the smoke.
Picture on right is one of the first firings of some bowls and incense holders. I always start with my smaller pieces before I move on to the larger pieces as I find the kilns seem to fire better the more they are fired.
In total I fired about 100 pieces in two kilns, must be getting old as after 5 hours of firing I felt rather tired!
Also this week
At the start of the week I was back on the wheel, throwing some of my big mugs and mushrooms that seem to be very popular at the moment.
